Dear Pontchartrain Park Community,
On today, PPCDC Board Member, Chairman Wendell Pierce and Exec Director Stanley Jackson, Pontchartrain Park Booster President Wilfred “Ray” Morris, and PPNA President Gretchen Bradford, attended a ceremony sponsored by New Orleans Area Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen Restaurants to Present Donations to the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) to Rebuild Local Parks. Almost seven years after Hurricane Katrina, the parks of New Orleans are still in need of financial help. Only half of the parks and recreation centers in New Orleans have been rebuilt and are currently open and operating in the community. To help alleviate some of the restoration costs, the Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen restaurants of New Orleans will presented a check in the amount of $50,000 to the New Orleans Recreation Development Foundation for use by the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) to help rebuild area parks affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen restaurants of New Orleans aims to help restore four city parks for the children and families of the community with this donation. The four parks include:
Pontchartrain Park: 6039 Press Dr
Treme: 900 N. Villere St.
Harrell: 2500 Leonidas St..
Goretti: 7500 Benson St.
