Meeting
January 21, 2012
Meeting was called to order by our President and prayer by Rev. Butler.
Motion was made by Mr. Oubre and seconded by Mr. Kellar to accept the minutes of the meeting on December 17, 2011. No questions. All in favor. Motion carried.
Financial report:
Balance as of November 30, 2011: $29,429.54
Checks cleared: $1800.00
Balance as of December 31, 2011 $27,629.54
Outstanding checks: $56.00
Balance as of January 20, 2012 $27,573.54
We received a letter from the IRS confirming the processing of 501c3 status.
Motion was made by Mrs. Bennett- Johnson and seconded by Pam Williams to accept the financial report as read with the necessary corrections. No questions. All in favor. Motion was carried.
The LPO will perform on Friday, May 25,2012. Wynton Marsalis will also perform.
Golf shirts remain on sale for $30. XXL and higher are $3.00 more. Colors are green and gold.
We will be implementing a newsletter this year. If you want to be a part of the newsletter team or have anything you want in the newsletter contact Shari Gibson at www.info@pontchartrainpark.org.
Commander Dean was present and offered crime stats for the surrounding area. He offered his cell number (504-330-4560) to report any incidents that may occur and for any emergencies. He also asked that we register at www.nolaready.info to get regular updates on crime in the area.
Pam Williams and Dr. Bennett-Johnson of the fundraising committee, offered a proposal for a Jazz Brunch on March 31, 2012. More details to follow.
Inquiry was made regarding starting a women’s golf team. Interested parties are asked to sign up.
Motion was made by Dr. Bennett-Johnson and seconded by Michael Carey to adjourn the meeting. No questions. All were in favor. Meeting was adjourned.
